Separation Anxiety
We pride ourselves in providing alternatives for dogs that have high levels of anxiety and behavioural issues. Our behavioural specialists have noted overwhelming improvement in anxious behaviours from past and current guests of The Doggery which we attribute to a combination of our relaxed, non-confined spaces, and high level of specialised care - including behavioural training for guests who require some extra psychological TLC. During fireworks season our remote, countryside location means minimal noise and therefore distress for sensitive dogs. We are also able to work with calming dogs through thunderstorms and similar events.

Arthritis
We cater to geriatric wellbeing and comfort in conjunction with medical movement. As many of man’s best friends age gracefully their mobility becomes restricted and they experience pain due to arthritic joints. At The Doggery home comforts and soft warm bedding plus a warm environment assist in care for their geriatric ailments. Our team gently encourage mobility restricted dogs to "move it or lose it" with ability appropriate walks.
Geriatric care
Your special family member often requires a higher level of care when they reach their twilight years. They may also require regular medications for medical conditions bought about by aging years. Our team are trained to administer medications and our comfortable homestyle environment is well suited for this level of individual care. We have many senior dogs pass through our care from 12-18 years. We are equipped for sight and hearing impaired, mobility restricted and dogs suffering incontinence or senility.
Diet management / Exercise/Food Intolerances
Food allergies and weight management issues are common in canines. At The Doggery individual dietary needs are catered to in order to ensure continuity of the diet each dog would receive at home. This also helps eliminate any gastric upsets from foods which disagree with your furry friends. Many of our special needs guests are on special diets due to medical conditions such as pancreatitis, irritable bowel disease, diabetes, allergies, urinary issues, weight management for dogs requiring weight loss for health and mobility issues.
Special Diets
Our Team are well aware of the impacts that nutrition can have on dogs in our care and we will take care to ensure that your furry friend gets the right foods at the right time. This includes catering to allergies, medical conditions and your personal preferences for your dog e.g. raw foods.
Medical conditions such as epilepsy & diabetes
Many dogs develop complex medical conditions during their lifespan and the cause of these conditions are numerous. These conditions require close monitoring and regular complex medications to ensure your pet retains a quality of life. At The Doggery, we are able to observe and care for dogs with these conditions to a high level of individual care 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Our experienced team are capable of chemotherapy administration and monitoring and dealing with complex conditions such as cushings disease, addisons disease, epilepsy and diabetes.

Post-surgical nursing and rehabilitation
Often dogs recovering from surgical procedures require additional care to ensure a strong recovery. When owners are busy with work and unable to provide this level of care it can cause stress and anxiety to both owner and pet. The Doggery can provide cage rest, medication administration and a high level of nursing care in a warm, home environment. This level of care and comfort promotes a quick and robust recovery. We also provide support for orthapaedic and spinal patients, helping them attend daily physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions with specialist support. The Doggery are able to transport patients to specialist appointments.
